It pisses me to find out how NUS allocates places for its law faculty...I know ppl who really want to get in, but didn't even make it to the interview round...Then there are those who put down law for the sake of it just to fill up the choices...and not only made it to the interview round... (that apparantly is computer generated...so if anyone is to blame...it's NUS' system for using a com to determine who are 'worthy' law students...) but actually GOT INto the law faculty! I mean, if the 250+ ppl who had made it through had been ppl who were genuinely interested in getting into law...then I'd have just been sad but resigned to the fact that I just did not match up to others...But shouldn't the law faculty take into consideration one's desire to go into the profession as opposed to simply judging one's capabilities as a lawyer based on their language abilities on paper?? On one hand, we have the newspapers talking about the shortage of lawyers as many leave the profession after practising for just a few years...Then on the other, we have the uni taking ppl who are not interested in getting into the faculty...So no wonder we are short of lawyers man!!
