A movie that clicks with humour but falls on story.
Adam Sandler, a workaholic architect, has been given a universal remote control which can basically control his life by performing TiVo-like functions such as pausing or fast-forwarding events. But when the remote goes out of control and chooses to fast-forward his life, he sees his life for what it truly is - wrecked and empty- because he has been neglecting his family and been too pre-occupied with his job instead. A pretty cliched storyline, which i thought could have been salvaged had it ended on a tragic note... where Sandler dies confessing his mistakes, but knowing that it's too late to turn the clock (or rather in this case, the remote) around. However, since it was rated as a family comedy, Hollywood wouldn't have allowed such a cruel ending. And so, twas ended on a fairytale (and ultra anti-climax) note, where Sandler woke up, realised that everything was (sorta like) a dream, and given a second chance to repent. i hate it when they spoil movies like that.
A good thing though, is that you get to feast your eyes on the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale and her cute lil daughter, Sam. Yeah, and the hormonally-charged dog is uber hilarious. haha! (moral of the story is: do NOT buy a ducky soft toy for your dog) if u still don't get it, go watch the movie!!
