Yesterday (inter-fac flag day):Since the flag head happily proclaimed that "law has an illustrious history of not even coming close to winning the flag day competition", the whole og was not too pressurised into trying very hard. :P Went to the SMU/Chijmes area to flag for a while, though rather unsucessfully cos everyone seems to have ALREADY donated. Victor was the best though. Got $10 notes! And there was this guy who actually walked up to him voluntarily to donate, when there were so many of us nearby he could have chosen to donate to! Haha, Victor's innocent-looking face does him good... :PAnyway, after collecting what we felt was a decent amount, Joanna, Emilee and I proceeded to watch Toyko Drift at Marina. Bumped into Ernest's Med OG at the cinema, so felt better cos we were not the only ones slacking! :D Toyko Drift was really short on plot, but it sure made up for it with the brillant drifting scenes, and the array of awesome race cars for everyone to ogle at. :P Then, feeling guilty about not doing our part for charity, went to Suntec for some last-minute flagging. Crowd there was good, so managed to get quite a few donations within just half an hour. Haha, turned out in the end that all the og guys (except Victor, Edwin, Edward and Hou Yuen) spent the ENTIRE flagging timing dota-ing. (haha and i thought I was slack...;)) Then in the last 10min, they decided to "do their bit for charity" (emphasis here being on the word bit) by going to all the shops to change their notes into coins. Nat was all "but there was someone flagging in front of us, and someone behind...then we were standing in the middle and NO ONE was donating to us...so we might as well go dota!" Hmmm yes yes...I understand...:PToday:Had bbq at Waimun's house. The official dress code was red and white in recognition of National Day. Haha, but since the only red shirts I have are Tarbet shirts, went in the same reddish-brown tee that I wore for National Day Celebrations in J2. As usual, that got ppl diaoing me about being "unpatriotic" and not "going with the national colours". Haha, liked Aloysius' logic though.."You see, if you mix white and red, you get the colour of her tee...So she's following the dress code!" :P Hmmm for some reason, the topic of discussion went on to the different horoscopes and the personalities associated with them...so lo and behold, now about at least half of the og knows about my birthday after all! And to think I wasn't planning to say...Haha...On another note, somehow thinking about my birthday has made me somewhat nostalgic about jc days. And I was actually telling weiting a few weeks ago that I haven't really thought about jc life at all. Guess it's cos I'm remembering about the time last year when the whole class shared my present (and as shi hui mentioned, "that's the first time the WHOLE class has ever shared a present for anyone, so you should feel honoured!") and stopped bio class halfway to sing a birthday song and to cut the cake. Ya at that time, I was really touched and thankful that the whole class remembered and celebrated it with me. So guess now that a year has passed and it's coming to the same day, starting to think back on those days. It's sad to realise that in just a week's time, people are starting to leave, and even future class outings (if i DO plan another one) would never have the whole class turning up again. Ah wells...some good times will never come back, but what's important is that the good memories will never be forgotten...-XL :)
