My 19th birthday...last year of teenagehood. Man i'm feeling old...;) Thanks to all you peeps who remembered: May, Xiu, Lilian, Wan, Vaish, Weiting, Sara (dory! :P) Peiyin, K, Qi Sheng, Angwei (happy birthday to u too! :D), Vicky, Nic, Minjia, Shim, Serene, Mich and Deep...and special thanks to all the og8 peeps who stayed over at law orientation last night for specially buying a cake (and a bitter chocolate one too! YUM. :D) and celebrating it with me! You guys rock! :D
Anyway...updates on Matric week activities...:P
Yesterday:
Woke up with a really bad cough, so decided to forgo the afternoon orientation activities to stay home and rest. My og won 2nd place for mardi gras though. Woohoo! And that was only cos "Douglas (from og 7) was doing his gay act...and you really can't top that!" :P Anyway, after being bored at home the entire afternoon, and after some effective persuasion by King Man, decided to turn up for the night activity after all, even though I knew that I might possibly be scaring myself silly with the whole Fright Night thing. (And to think Aloysius actually said "Fright night? What fright night? Come on lah...that's lame...probably for sec school orientation or something...Law doesn't do lame orientation activities like that" Yeah right. :P)Anyway, fright night consisted of 4 stations, and as there were many ppl who poned stayover, did this activity together with the og 7 ppl:
Station 1 (haunted house):
Did this station with Valda. Haha, cos it was her first time experiencing fright night, and she had previously not heard of the concept before since she's just arrived from Bangkok, she was really freaked out by the whole thing...and that seriously got ME freaked out too! Was trying so hard to act brave so that she won't feel any more scared than she was already. Dreaded having to be the one to open all the 6 marked doors and entering all the rooms to check them out first, though the tasks, such as lifting doll body parts from pails containing frogs and mealworms, were pretty much ok since I've no phobia for either creatures. Joel was darn funny. Said when he lifted his doll part from the pail, a mealworm dropped on to the candle on the floor and died, prompting laughter from even the "ghosts".
Station 2 (park):
Part 1: Did this with Edward, and it's the mildest section out of the entire fright night. The concoction of Rose syrup, tabasco, chilli sauce, ketchup and whatever nots that we were made to drink was rather nasty though, but it amazingly helped soothed my throat for a while! Haha, Waimun was like "you should go and drink more". :P Part 2: Got paired up with Joel from og 7, aka our very own drag queen from beach bash! Haha, doing fright night with him was more funny than scary, even though we were walking through the "graveyard". He kept saying that I was the one protecting him, and was trying to convince me to take up the english name of Jade, though I told him that the name was reserved exclusively for him...Haha...(he used that name in the drag queen competition :P) We both agreed that the part where this hand suddenly popped up to grab him from under the sand of one of the tombstones was rather scary and well-done though. Got both of us jumping up in shock.Station 3 (haunted mansion):Went with Elaine from og 7. This station is arguably the scariest of all, cos the concept of going around the house collecting body parts is admittedly rather freaky. Even some of the guys said they got a bit afraid, especially in the last room where we were supposed to search for the body of a doll in a pail in the middle of a really dark, and empty-looking room. Lionel was saying how he went in, bumped into the pail, grabbed the doll, and rushed out. Pity for the lighting though, cos half the time I could barely see where I was going, and so couldn't really make out many of the "ghosts", except when they came screaming in my face, of course. Elaine was really nice to keep walking ahead of me and leading me around in the dark, warning me of obstacles and things not to trip over. :)Station 4 (at law fac):Went for the final station with Colin (from og 7). We were made to sit down on the couch in some dark room to watch snippets of The Ring and Ju-on. No prizes in guessing what started coming out after that. :P Oh, but it was really cool how they suddenly switched the movie to a video-cam showing the both of us, with this Sadako thingy coming from behind, as another ghost came crawling out from the side of the tv. The effect was ruined somewhat when I recognised one of the Sadakos as Chun Ying though, and so that kind of diminished the scare factor. :P However, the best part had to be when this guy came stumbling out of the cupboard just as we were proceeding out of the room, prompting both Colin and I to jump up a bit and go "whoa".Today:After supper at Fong Seng Prata House, slept for only about 2hours. Upon waking up though, was surprised with a wonderful chocolate birthday cake for breakfast. Thanks guys! :p Haha, was taking photos with everyone when I was barely awake. Bet the photos turned out with me looking bad. :P Xiu came to crash my og, and we then proceeded to SRC to support law fac in the rag competition. All the floats were really colourful and nice, and the performances and dancing were well-coordinated and wonderful to watch! Med fac really deserved the best dance performance though. Their dance moves and stunts were unbeatable...so cheers to them for winning, even though law put up a tough fight too!! :PXiu and I then met up with lilian in town for lunch at ichiban! They had come up with new items in their menu, and being in an adventurous mood, tried out a number of them, some with great satisfaction, and others with a certain amount of regret. :P Xiu and I were both rather conked out by 3+ though, so ended the outing early to go home to my nice comfy bed! Haha, can't believe I'm sleeping through my birthday! :P-XL :)
