Tennis and Badminton on fri!!At first, thought that my fri will be darn sian, cos my friend cancelled on me and all...But thank goodness Xinjie dragged me (though rather reluctantly at first) to go play tennis with her og ppl...Turned out that i didn't have to worry about not knowing the ppl...cos managed to drag peiyin along as well, plus bumped into some of the og1 peeps (ben, vikrum, may jean and audrey), so ended up playing with them instead. :P Being paired up with vikrum is just the best...Cos he's a tennis player, I basically just had to stay on my side of the court and try to hit whatever comes my way, and every other part of the court, he'll return the ball for me. :P Then, joined Joel, Joanna and Rachel for a round of badminton...which for me was more successful. Could actually do a proper rally, instead of just practising my service, as with tennis. :P Joel and his insistence on growling everytime he did a successful smash was just darn funny. But seriously, it's a guy thing.. Refused to do that, even with much persuasion. :D

The Departed on sat.
Great movie, except that the suspense is somewhat ruined by the fact that I had already watched Infernal Affairs, and so knew what was coming. (Oh, almost nothing was changed, except the change in setting from Hong Kong to Boston) Two thumbs up to Leonardo DiCaprio's brillant portrayal of the inner turmoils of an undercover cop dealing with the perils of a dual identity, having to constantly conceal his identity to his mafia boss, and yet not getting any credit for the contributions he is providing to the police. Matt Damon's somewhat bland take on Colin Sullivan was no match to Andy Lau's acting and charisma in the original movie though. However, the superb acting by the supporting cast of Jack Nicholson as the mafia boss, Mark Wahlberg as the vulgarity-sprouting superintendent, and Martin Sheen as the fatherly figure to Leonardo's character as the head of the Boston police department, more than makes up for it. So for those who have watched Infernal Affairs, it's still worth catching this, and for those who haven't (wah how come you haven't?!) all the more this is a must watch!! :P Haha, lilian and christine were rather grossed out by the gory scenes though, even though erica and i were rather emotionless about it. Surprisingly, although the movie's M18, it wasn't as bad as i expected...maybe cos i'm tolerable to the idea of 'blood' splashing everywhere...As opposed to severed body parts (which thankfully there weren't too many of..:P)
-XL :)
P.s. Ironically, as I'm here talking about The Departed...Infernal Affairs is being shown on Channel U...:P
