FINALLY, some free time for myself. The whole of last week was practically taken up by dry-runs. Not that they were all bad...just that too much of it makes the whole idea sianz.
Mon-Wed:Law Camp dry-runs. And yes folks, the rest are censored. Suffice to say that there's the usual games that will get the freshies wet, dirty and embarrassed. That's the fun of orientation after all. :P
Thurs:Water tele dry-run. Honestly, i got a bit pissed off that we couldn't run the thing properly as planned, and i think it kind of showed. Not that i was irritated with anyone who turned up - i was more apolegetic towards them because they travelled miles for what was almost a fruitless dry-run because we didn't have enough ppl to try out much. I'm also thankful that they were encouraging enough to tell me that the dry-run was not the disaster that it was. What irks me most is that a certain person who was supposed to be the one taking responsibility is, last i heard, enjoying himself playing WOW everyday whilst i'm dumped with all the planning and execution, and who till this day remains absolutely uncontactable. ARGH.
Ok. Enough bitching. Anyway, contrary to what i've vehemently been telling everyone, because of my mood that day, i decided to cheer myself up by catching Ocean's Thirteen! Haha, kinda ironic, because just hours before, I was telling Ian that i was "
never going to catch that movie". Ah wellz i take that back. :P And the movie wasn't as bad as i thought it to be! Not fantasic as Ocean's Eleven of course, but at least the plot makes sense this time, which is not what i can say for the second instalment of the series. And something interesting i learnt that day: guys do not necessarily have better sense of direction than girls! Well, at least if the fact that i was leading them around vivo as opposed to the other way around is any indication. :P
Fri:Met up with lilian in town for much needed retail therapy. Everyone should SO check out this store called MANGGIS on the third floor of far east plaza. It has clothes with the nicest designs imaginable. Haha, lilian was there to witness my devastation when i realized that they didn't have zips and so couldnt' get them past...erm...a certain part of my body. :P The only two items which came close to being a part of my acquisition were 'bustline' (haha guess why it got that name? :P) and this real nice Guess dress on 70% discount (which i'm totally regretting not getting now...) Lilian, my mum allows! I was mentioning it to her and she was 'oh if it's so nice and cheap, why didn't you just get it?' Darn.
Sat-Mon:Except for dinner at NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House with dai gu zei and sai gu zai on sat, and watching the Austrian Choir at the University Cultural Centre with Wan and her family on sun, have pretty much been wilting away at home these few days. But to prevent myself from looking literally like a couch potato, have decided to start a swimming regime. After all, with the sweltering heat, what better form of exercise is there? :P Am proud to say that i've clocked up two swimming sessions in three days, and that i'm planning to go again on wed. :D My stamina sucks now though. In the past, 20 laps was a breeze; now i have to do it in sets instead of all at one shot. Sadz.
