Pulau Ubin Cycling Trip!

Cycling around the island was super fun, but also really tiring! Haha my stamina is not what it was before man (which wasn't very good already, to be honest. :P) But it certainly beats cycling around east coast, which is starting to feel mundane and unexciting. The company was great too! Haha, with shermin-little-miss-sunshine, people changing andre's name from dugong to wild boar (haha poor thing, i don't think he was too pleased with that new nickname) and nich and dennis always drawing-the-line with py-nus biz and gaoli-ntu, there was not a dull moment. :P
Have been plagued with stomach viral infection since tues night though. Thankfully the fever and puking's gone, but now i'm still rushing to the toilet every 30min. Sucks. Caused me to miss trial advo yesterday too. Bleah. REALLY hope i recover soon! There's still loads of yummy snowskin mooncake in the fridge waiting for me to eat. Haha. :P

Mid-sem break is here!
Not that there's much to rejoice about really, considering how there's still property assignment to do, and readings to catch up on. But ah wells, a little break is better than no break at all i guess. And before I go on any further, let me just comment that there's this irritating bug that's buzzing around above me as I type...some unknown flying creature with super long feelers which seems to find enjoyment in repeatedly hitting the light bulb above me. Haha what is it with bugs and bright light? Never understood that.
Anyway, got the car again this week! So shiok being able to get out of the house and reach school in less than 1hr. And it's super useful when I'm going out to meet friends too! The parking, however, is MADNESS. I think i'll be more broke because of parking fees this week instead of shopping, if not for the fact that the cashcard is my dad's (haha phew. :P) Just when i thought the $10+ charge at bugis on thurs was ex, i was slapped with $20+ in parking fees at taka today! Wah almost fainted. My parking skills are improving though if i may say so, even though technically i kind of cheated somewhat by parking at one of those drive-straight-in slots at eu tong sen, which is always helpfully available. But when i tried parking butt in at taka today, i managed it successfully on the first try, without having to adjust! :D Haha, of course now the key is making sure that i can repeat that feat. :P
Met up with xf and lilian in town today before xf flies back to london on monday morning. Sigh so fast man, three months' hols are up just like that, and she's going back for a whole year again. Girl you take care over there ya, and talk to you on msn! (since i'm always online anyway, in school or otherwise. :P) Will miss you!! :(

This week seems to be flying by quickly. I'm really proud to say that i've managed to catch up with my readings from the backlog of work that i had accumulated during mallal-ing period. That, of course, came at the expense of my beauty sleep. But as Karen Dixon says, 'sleeping is for the dead'. And anyway, there's always caffaine. :P
Stayed back on tues night to catch the semi-finals of mallals, especially to watch the moots of jared vs exchange student, and vikrum vs vishal. Looking at the way they were bombarded with qns, puddles and i were REALLY glad we didn't have to endure the semi-finals ourselves. Haha my pathetic answer would probably have been, 'errr....' and then -silence-, which is so totally unimpressive compared to the semi-finalists. :P PY and Bern came over to btc to watch too! It's great seeing them again, and to learn they haven't changed one bit: PY is still as auntie, and Bern still doesn't go for lectures. :P Haha, but i suppose it really hasn't been THAT long since they went over to business.
Met up with jen today! Haha the girl is still as pretty and skinny as ever (and NO even when you were in england, that is NOT considered fat. :P) As with always, we were up for jap food, and so went down to ichiban, before heading down to cafe iguana for drinks. Ohh i made a wonderful discovery! Pink guava margaritta there is REALLY good! Haha so next time i go i can vary my options instead of always going for mango margaritta. :P
Also heard from Jen about Maureen, Su Ching and Vivian, and how they came together for a reading of Su Ching's play. Wow it's quite amazing how they all still keep in contact and are active in drama. I'm like so totally out of it already. It made me feel somewhat nostalgic about the LD days, where we were in it for the acting and the drama, and were relatively free from the obstacle that is politics. Wonder if LD now is still the same...
Anyway, shopping with Xiu at bugis tomorrow! Haha darn excited about it! I need retail therapy after all the readings i've done this week man. :P

Mallals is over! (haha in all senses of the word). As expected, didn't get into the semis, but wells it was a good experience...At least i don't think i screwed it up that bad. :P
Went to school early on tues to practise with grace. We ended up not doing much though, cos grace wasn't done writing her speech, and i was just generally feeling too sleepy to bother reciting my speech over and over again. Thank goodness for the wonders of caffaine, which i had to resort to by afternoon to keep myself relatively sane. Haha, those in my company seminar would have seen me desperately trying to keep my eyes open...i was THAT spaced out. :P
Really loved the whole ambience of Allen & Gledhill. Suppose that's the difference with a big law firm. There's super high security even trying to get into the building, and the first thing you see when you reach the 30th floor is this wonderful sky garden. Wow. I ended up having my moots at the boardroom. (haha funky!) The funny thing though was that amidst all the plush boardroom chairs and the huge boardroom table, there was in the middle of the table (serving as the podium)...a cardboard box. Haha, unglam. The moment i opened my black file on it, there was no space left to rest my hands, which ended up rather awkwardly placed on the table at the sides of the box. :P
The judges were clearly warmed up by the time my moots started though. Apparantly the people for the first timeslot had to recite facts, but then when it was my turn the judges already knew what questions to ask. No matter whether it was amardeep or me speaking, the guy judge just -whack whack whack-. Didn't even have time to finish most of what i wanted to say. Haha, the guy judge was somewhat intimidating: all black-faced and frowning everytime you attempted to respond to his queries. (I don't think i even saw a flicker of approval/smile on his face) Thank goodness for amardeep being there as well. (haha i can't believe i'm actually saying that it's comforting to have opposing counsel around. Although i suppose it would have been an entirely different story altogether if i had gotten the likes of jared kok or nabil for opposing counsel. :P) The girl judge was somewhat more placid though, which made it slightly more comforting. :P
Anyway, went to tcc with grace and ervin after moots! LOVE their bean bags. Haha and plus mine was in the best shape the entire time, unlike ervin's which was oddly rectangular instead of round and plump. He blamed it on the person before him, whom he claimed was just too fat and so flattened the bean bag and made it out of shape. Haha. :P Tried their tirumisu, which was simply heavenly, esp since that was essentially dinner for me that day, aside from the slice of pizza i had at A & G. Must remember to try it again some day. :P

sojourn '07.
- say hello to the Spiderpiglets!!

sojourn was awesome!! and i must say that the spiderpiglets are an awfully self-motivated bunch of pple. it's hard to forget the sight of u guys running around orchard road in a human chain singing national day songs at least 5 times in a day... and how a fellow og member (shockingly) devoured the dragonfruit skin under desperate circumstances. kudos to everyone!

the ogls in frisbee action :)

Hi- jump!!
nicely :)

day 2: amazing race - shi zi lu kou.
spiderpigs cracking (and scratching) their heads over the clues.

jie hui, wei shyan.
