Mallals is over! (haha in all senses of the word). As expected, didn't get into the semis, but wells it was a good experience...At least i don't think i screwed it up that bad. :P
Went to school early on tues to practise with grace. We ended up not doing much though, cos grace wasn't done writing her speech, and i was just generally feeling too sleepy to bother reciting my speech over and over again. Thank goodness for the wonders of caffaine, which i had to resort to by afternoon to keep myself relatively sane. Haha, those in my company seminar would have seen me desperately trying to keep my eyes open...i was THAT spaced out. :P
Really loved the whole ambience of Allen & Gledhill. Suppose that's the difference with a big law firm. There's super high security even trying to get into the building, and the first thing you see when you reach the 30th floor is this wonderful sky garden. Wow. I ended up having my moots at the boardroom. (haha funky!) The funny thing though was that amidst all the plush boardroom chairs and the huge boardroom table, there was in the middle of the table (serving as the podium)...a cardboard box. Haha, unglam. The moment i opened my black file on it, there was no space left to rest my hands, which ended up rather awkwardly placed on the table at the sides of the box. :P
The judges were clearly warmed up by the time my moots started though. Apparantly the people for the first timeslot had to recite facts, but then when it was my turn the judges already knew what questions to ask. No matter whether it was amardeep or me speaking, the guy judge just -whack whack whack-. Didn't even have time to finish most of what i wanted to say. Haha, the guy judge was somewhat intimidating: all black-faced and frowning everytime you attempted to respond to his queries. (I don't think i even saw a flicker of approval/smile on his face) Thank goodness for amardeep being there as well. (haha i can't believe i'm actually saying that it's comforting to have opposing counsel around. Although i suppose it would have been an entirely different story altogether if i had gotten the likes of jared kok or nabil for opposing counsel. :P) The girl judge was somewhat more placid though, which made it slightly more comforting. :P
Anyway, went to tcc with grace and ervin after moots! LOVE their bean bags. Haha and plus mine was in the best shape the entire time, unlike ervin's which was oddly rectangular instead of round and plump. He blamed it on the person before him, whom he claimed was just too fat and so flattened the bean bag and made it out of shape. Haha. :P Tried their tirumisu, which was simply heavenly, esp since that was essentially dinner for me that day, aside from the slice of pizza i had at A & G. Must remember to try it again some day. :P
