I'm surprised my previous entry was actually read. I have loyal fans!! :P
Anyway, it's quite amazing how time flies, even as I complain about how long every day in internship seems to be. Yet before i know it, i've complained my way to almost the end of my corp dept internship, and it's on to liti next week onwards! I can't believe I'm saying this, but now i feel that i'm leaving too soon! Haha, i guess it's cos i really like my mentor. Although I felt like a poor unwanted kid the whole of last week because she was away, and when she came back she was so busy clearing stuff that she didn't have time for me, getting to work with her this week has made this internship so much better. I think she's SO cute! She was all:
Mentor: When are you leaving?
Me: Oh I'm going to liti dept next week onwards.
Mentor: Next wee...that's ONE MORE DAY left!!
Me: Haha eh...ya.
Mentor: Wahh that's fast! Okok but anyway the next two weeks you can feel free to find me when you are free ok? Anyway you are just one floor down.
Me: Ya sure!
Yep, even though it was just one week, she really made me feel welcomed (haha that means her plan to 'leave a very good first impression' worked! :P). I even willingly and happily OT-ed for her yesterday, only to be shooed away with a 'actually you can tell me this tomorrow morning la. No need to torture yourself.' To make me stay back beyond working hours without complaining is an achievement! :P Honestly can't say her work is too exciting though (haha oopz.) Somehow she's so specialised that everything is standard contracts and documents. Kinda reminds me of conveyancing. :S But she did give me much useful insight about the pros and cons of liti and corporate though, as she herself had started off at liti before making the switch. Hmmm much food for thought, esp her story of her VERY pregnant female lawyer friend dragging her files, and her huge tummy, to court. Wah not the work life i want next time man!
Also sad that both Lavan and Vernon are ending tomorrow, though Vernon HAD to go 'hmmm finally ending. TOMORROW LAST DAY. -pointed look and smirk at me-' Hmph! Thankfully still have Pin Ping as my lunch buddy, although next week onwards I wouldn't be sharing a nice big room with her anymore. My new place is a table along the corridors. DARN can't facebook, online shop anymore! Haha not that I was never caught doing those things these two weeks. Have been blatantly surfing all sorts of random sites with the window maximised, and with my com facing the door, when all the while people are walking to and fro outside. I'm sure some of them saw, and the secretary who walked right into the room without me noticing today DEFINITELY realised that the banana republic website i was looking at was NOT corporate-related work. I couldn't even switch windows in time cos the com was SO laggy the pdf window i tried to get to pop up appeared in parts, so the screen was part words and part pictures of nice dresses. If only my mentor's contract is for a design/apparel company. Ah the excuses I could come up with! Haha but ah wells.
