Love East Coast
Love the sound of the waves as they crashed against the shore, the feel of the sand under my feet (ok fine...under my feet, socks and shoes. :P), and the feel of the wind as I ride on my bicycle along the bicycle trail. Also, how all the ships stayed stagnant on the ocean waters, like one big endless picture you hang along your wall.
Love the people (and animal) watching. The brave souls dipping into the murky greenish-blue ocean waters, including one daring soul with his terrier, which looked like it was frantically paddling towards shore, except that it was held in its owner's grasp and was swimming nowhere. Dogs of all shapes and sizes walking/jogging/running (depending on the size of their feet) along with their owners, and this one particular dark-brown labrador which was rolling over again, and again...and again on the grass, as its owner tugged in vain on its leash, looking exasperated. People sitting in their tents and in groups at the stone tables, watching us cyclists and bladers go by. Bladers, cyclists and runners of varying competency weaving in and out past each other in the somewhat overcrowded trail. People trying out all sorts of water sports in the ocean, including kayaking, sailing and jet skiing (cool i want to try that!).
Especially love Bedok Jetty. Even in the afternoon, and after so many years, there is still so many, if not more, fishing enthusiasts. You would have thought that the fishes would have gotten smarter by now, by natural selection or something, as all their more trusting ancestors take the bait and become anchovies/ikan billis. Although i DID notice one guy take up his fish trap, still filled full of bait but not at all with any fish (aw.) So maybe the fishes ARE getting more savvy about the dangers that lurk above the waters after all. :P The view, at least, is still the same. From there, you get a clear view of airplanes that have taken off from Changi Airport (that will be me in a few months!), and in the opposite direction, my condo, not too far a distance away. Soothing and serene. :)
All these kind of made me wonder why I'd abandoned my weekly cycling routine a few years ago. Haha, although technically the word 'laziness' keeps popping into my head. :P Yep, but definitely will visit more before I fly. Last I checked i think there's no beaches in the UK. I could be wrong, but either ways, I'll still be unwilling to freeze my butt off at one of their beaches there. Of course, there's always Hyde Park in London, just a 2hr train ride away from Notts. Will be looking forward to visiting it again. :P
